Phishing

Phishing is when someone sends an e-mail that appears to come from someone you have frequent contact with. You are led to believe that the message comes from your bank, your supplier, or someone else you normally do business with. You might be asked to provide information about your user name, password, account number or credit card number.

No bank asks for information of this kind

No bank, neither Handelsbanken nor any other bank, would ever request such information from you – especially not via e-mail. If you receive an e-mail appearing to come from Handelsbanken that requests information of the type described above, do not respond to it. We would be grateful if you could forward it to reportphish@handelsbanken.se

How we communicate with you?

Handelsbanken communicates online via the e-mailbox that is available when you log on to online banking. Handelsbanken would never contact you in any other way, for example by phone, to request confidential information. This type of information is handled through personal contact at your branch office.

Be careful when using external links to Handelsbanken that you have received via e-mail or another text. We always advise you to enter the Handelsbanken link directly into the address bar of your web browser.
