Install the BankID security software

Install the security program and driver

To start using the log-in card and card reader with a cable (BankID on a card), you will need to install two programs: a security program for BankID and a driver for the card reader.

Instructions for Windows

  1. Install security software for BankID
    Download the BankID application Opens in a new window


  2. Install driver for the card reader
    You will need to restart your computer after the driver has been installed.
    Card reader driver: Windows 8.1

    Card reader driver: Windows 10 and 11


  3. Log in to Handelsbanken Online Banking
    Log in to personal banking Opens in a new window

    *The drivers are not developed to be installed on computers with ARM processors.

Instructions for Mac OS

  1. Install security software for BankID

  2. Install driver for the card reader
    Select a link depending on which Mac OS version you have. You will need to restart your computer after the driver has been installed.
